Peaceful Lake District Bed and Breakfast set in beautiful open countryside in the tiny hamlet of Garth Row, 3 miles from Kendal town centre and just off the A6. We have 2 Double rooms with 1 flexible room on the Ground Floor which can be configured as a Double, Triple or Family room. Both are fully en-suite and enjoy lovely views of either our large gardens or hills and fells in the distance. Both rooms have tea/coffee making facilities and digital TV. Hollin Root Farm is a great base from which to relax and explore the Lake District ( Lake Windermere is only 8 miles away ) or even the Yorkshire Dales. We are popular as as stopover between England and Scotland too.

This Grade II listed Georgian building (1812), retains many original Regency period features and is a home from home: a comfortable place in which to relax and unwind. Set in 2 acres of our own grounds, the hotel has a remarkably secluded feel and yet is only a 10 minute walk away from Kendal train station and the bustling town centre. The most striking of its original features is the grand, black marble fireplace, situated in the Residents' Lounge. The real fire gives a warming glow to the whole room and adds to the atmosphere for residents and non-resident diners alike.
